EVERY TRADING SYSTEM needs a trader…are you the trader who can trade the system? If you are one of the fortunate few who has been able to develop a profitable, effective trading system, you will soon discover the next step to the journey: the system has to fit you.

Most people get extremely frustrated when they discover that the system they spent months or even years perfecting creates nothing but heart-pounding, belly-twisting nervousness. Does this mean that you need to change the system? Throw it out the door?

Not necessarily. If the system is only slightly out of line with the person’s personality, then a few tweaks will often allow you to use it effectively. However, if it gives you cold sweat, then you will need professional help, and not necessarily from a trader. A professional trader can only tell you if your system makes sense, and if this is ultimately the one for you. Then, you will need a coach of some sort who is skilled at psychological techniques. This does not necessarily mean Anthony Robbins-type NLP, although it can be. There is a huge range of material that you can use.

Here’s what happened to a trader who found intraday trading is not for him…

…he moved his trading completely to the daily timeframe…

…trades just 15 minutes a day…

…and does what he likes the rest of the time.

In fact, he manages the Lazy Trader website, a successful company where he shares his expertise with others who don’t like the intraday trades.

Why do we like Rob Colville? Simple: We’ve seen his trade results. We once hosted a seminar for him on the condition that he opened his playbook of ALL his trades (the good, the bad, and the ugly) for the previous year, and he generously did so. Being a trader makes you very quickly sceptical of anyone who can’t back up what he says, so that was the key condition.

That said, we do not represent him in any way (we don’t get any kickback from mentioning him). It’s just an example of a trader who found his style of trading. Rob is practically averse to everyday, “normal” trading, and that is just right for him.

So the question is…what’s your trading “style”?
